Maulana
Monawwer Sultan Nadwi,(Born on February 10, 1979 at Bishanpur,Ekhatha Madhubani, Bihar,)a brilliant son of Mr. Mohammad Bashir Ahmad,
an Assistant Teacher at a Government High school, was always a devoted,
passionate and goal-oriented student. He completed his primary education
at Madrasa Islamia Tufanpur, where his sincerity and devotion to and
excellence at education impressed his teachers so much so that they
vouched for his luminous future; a forecast which later materialized
virtually.
With an aspiration to attend one of the largest Islamic Seminary in
the world Darululoom Nadwatul Ulama, he went to Madrasa Chasma-e-Faiz
Malmal, Madhubai for his secondary education, form where, finally he
seized the chance to set off his flight of higher education and his
dream to attend Nadwatul Ulama. He graduated from there in Almiat (Equivalent
to B. A.) in 1999 and in Fazilat (equivalent to M.A.) in 2001. This
however was not to mark a full stop to his education. His longing for
more and his passion to excellence led him to Al Mahadul Aali Al Islami
for specialization in Islamic Law, Sharia Jurisprudence and training
for Sharia judiciary. Under the auspices of; and special attention and
patronage of Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, the eminent contemporary
Islamic Scholar and Islamic Jurisprudence Expert, he accomplished his
training for ‘Ifta’ and ‘Qaza’ and also attended the training
and practice course for research and writing which brushed up and gave
an impetus to his potentials of writing skills which he possessed from
the very beginning of his education. Though it was his debut book ‘Nadwatul
Ulama ka Feqhi Mezaj or Abna-e-Nadwatul Ulama ki Feqhi Khidmat (Nadwatul
Ulama’s Approach and Contribution to Islamic Jurisprudence), which
he wrote under the special guidance and supervision of Maulana Khalid
Saifullah Rahmani which accentuated his writing skill and introduced
him to the intelligentsia, but he had already proved his organizational
and writing skills very earlier. While still a student, he established
a student organization at his locality level and organized under its
umbrella a number of educational and cultural programs aimed at the
promotion and awareness of education; which bore noticeable results
and effects. He also edited and issued as chief editor ‘Nisha-e-Manzil’,
an yearly magazine published for his locality people.
His devotion, passion, enthusiasm, excellence and distinctiveness
got him his place into Darul Uloom Nadwtul Ulama as a Teacher of Islamic
Jurisprudence and Academic Assistant at the Darul Ifta and provided
him the golden opportunity to fully capitalize on his knowledge potentials,
writing skills and his passion for creativity. Since then he has never
looked back and has added a number of feathers of academic achievements
to his cap. His works include apart from his debut book mentioned earlier:
- ‘Khawateen ke Sharei Masael’ (Muslim Women Issues in the Light of Islamic Sharia),
- ‘Fiqh-e-Islami ke Masadir’ (The Sources of Islamic Jurisprudence),
- ‘Shomali Bihar ka Ek Mardum Khaiz Qasba Ekhatha and Atraf’ (A Famous Village of Prominent Personalities in Northern Bihar: Ekhatha and Its Suburbs),
- Hoququl Mara’a fi Zau-e-Fatawal Ulama Al Homood (Arabic) (Women Rights in the light of Indian Muslim Scholars’ Legal Opinions)
- Translation from Arabic to Urdu: Fiqh-e-Hanfi: Tareekh w Taa’ruf, (Hanfi School of Jurisprudence: Introduction and History); Preface to Sharah Waqaya by Maulana Abdul Hai Farangimahli
Apart from these ingenious works, he also has a number of compilations
to his name which include:
- ‘Fatawa Nadwatul Ulama’ (Sharia Legal Opinions Issued by Nadwatul Ulama), 3 Volumes till now.
- ‘Mine ke Nahi nayab hen Ham’: A collection of Essays by the well-know Writer and Essayist Ameenuddin Shujauddin
- ‘Rubaru’: A collection of Interviews byMr. Ameenuddin Shujauddin
- Two Collections of Writings by Maulana Shekh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi and Maulana Rabe Hasani Nadwi
With a remarkable writing and editing skills, he has also been associated
with leading Urdu magazines. Apart from issuing and editing the yearly
‘Nishan-e-Manzil’, as mentioned earlier, he has also served as Sub-Editor
of weekly ‘Tameer-e-Naw’, Lucknow. Currently, he is the Assistant
Editor of ‘Bang-e-Hera’, a monthly magazine published from Lucknow.
In addition to editing, he has published numerous articles in various
Newspapers and Magazines, i.e. ‘Tameer-e Hayat’, ‘Inqelab’,
‘Munsif Hayderabad’ and ‘Hamara Awam Hayderabad’. Moreover,
he had participated in over dozens of Academic Seminars and Conferences
and presented research papers on varied topics.
These academic and journalistic engagements and activities have not
debarred him from being always diligently active for the dissemination
and promotion of education and knowledge in his locality and actively
participating in all Educational and Reformative activities and programs
organized there.
